Conversation Class — Speak, Read, Write

Who this class is for:

  • Intermediate learners and above who want to speak more naturally and confidently.

  • Students preparing for travel, work, or social situations.

  • Newcomers to Canada.

What you will practise:

  • Everyday conversations: introductions, small talk, asking questions.

  • Functional language: making requests, giving opinions, agreeing and disagreeing politely, and common social situations.

  • Pronunciation and intonation patterns to sound clearer and more natural.

  • Vocabulary, phrases, and idioms.

Class format

  • Small group sizes, typically 4–6 students.

  • Meet once per week - 90 minute class.

  • Warm-up conversation, article or language focus, discussion, mini-write & mini-presentation

  • Personalised feedback from instructors on accuracy, vocabulary, and pronunciation.

  • Optional homework: writing assignment and editing by teacher.

About the teacher:

Ken has lived and taught in Jeju South Korea for over 18 years, and began his Asian journey teaching in Jiangsu Province, China. Prior to that he was a project manager with Academica serving Canadian colleges and universities.

Ken also coordinates a literacy project in Cambodia with Jeju Youth Volunteers, bringing English to 600 elementary students.
